Retrofit - Water Polisher with Air Backwash Kit

Developed to fit in the outlet of the Nexus filter, the water polisher with air backwash kit is able to be retro-fitted into any existing Nexus units. It incorporates a modified “D” grill, a plastic weir plate, a full metal grill plate and an air line with valve for cleaning purposes. How it works:-
The water transferring through the unit will have passed through the 200 micron screen of ‘The Answer’. This will have removed much of the mechanical waste prior to entering the biological stage of the unit. Water then passes through the full metal grill plate and is diverted by the new weir plate upwards and over into the static K1. This acts as fine particle filtration and polishes the water. These fine particles will then remain trapped until maintenance is carried out.

Maintenance
The air backwash is extremely easy and pleasurable to use. The circulating pump is switched off and a valve turned that diverts air from the main Nexus air ring into the base of the outlet. This causes the K1 media to be agitated and cleaned vigorously. Once the K1 has been agitated for a sufficient period, the water in the outlet chamber is flushed to waste using the T piece recommend on all Nexus gravity fed units. Once clean, the air flow is re-diverted back to the main air ring and the system started again. The whole process from start to finish can take less than two minutes.
